Pom Pom Stamped Watermelon Art Project For Kids

Our latest watermelon kid craft idea is not only super simple but really inexpensive and fun for all ages. Even adults will want to recreate their own polka dot covered watermelon slice piece today!

To complete this fun craft paint and paper watermelon craft, all you need to do is print out the provided free watermelon slice template and grab some wood clothespins, craft pom poms & craft paint. That’s it! Then after a few simple assembling steps and dabs of paint on your paper, you will have a stamped watermelon craft completed in no time!

Pom Pom Painted Watermelon Art Project For Kids

This fun and easy watermelon craft is perfect for kids of all ages! All you need is a few supplies and some imagination.

Craft Supplies:

  • Watermelon Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Colored Cardstock Paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue Stick or School Glue
  • Wood Clothespins
  • Medium Sized Pom Poms
  • Green Craft Paint
  • Black Craft Paint
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Large Wiggle Eyes
  • Black Sharpie Marker

Directions:

  • First print out the watermelon slice template printable, that is listed above in the supply list. You will want to print it on a single sheet of white cardstock paper. You only need ONE print per watermelon craft.
  • Now grab your scissors and trim out the watermelon slice from the printable. Discard excess paper.
  • Next grab your choice of adhesive and glue the watermelon slice to the center of another piece of colored cardstock paper.
  • Now grab your two clothespins and pom poms.
  • Pinch ONE pom pom into each of the clothespins. You now have TWO polka dot paint brushes!
  • Next squirt the two different paint colors {black and green} on the paper plate.
  • Dip one clothespin paint brush in the green and the other in the black.
  • Now you are ready to paint! Add green dots along the rim of the watermelon slice, as well as adding a few black “watermelon seeds” in the inside.
  • Once done, set it aside to let it dry completely before moving onto the next step.
  • To finish off the polka dot watermelon craft, glue on the wiggle eyes and draw on a smile. That’s it!

Prepare your creative haven by laying down a protective cover before the crafting magic begins!
