Craft Supplies:

  • Large Pink Cupcake Liners – 1 per card
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Cardstock Card Fronts
  • Scissors
  • Small Googly Eyes
  • Heart Stickers
  • Green Sharpie Marker
  • Black Sharpie Marker

Directions:

  • First take ONE large pink cupcake liner and flatten it out with your hands.
  • Next take that flattened pink cupcake liner and fold it into thirds/a triangle shape, to create the slice {and the inside flesh} of the watermelon.
  • Glue it down, in the center of a single sheet of white cardstock paper.
  • Now trim down that particular cardstock piece to be placed on another colored cardstock paper card front.
  • Use the glue stick to attach the two paper pieces together.
  • Now grab the wiggle eyes.
  • Secure those in place, to bring the watermelon slice to life.
  • Take the black Sharpie marker and draw on a simple smile under the wiggle eyes.
  • Follow that up with a few black dots for the “watermelon seeds” on the cupcake liner.
  • Now grab your green Sharpie marker and draw on curved rind design, just above the cupcake liner.
  • To finish off the Cupcake Liner Watermelon Valentine Card – write a cheesy Valentine’s Day saying on the outside, as well as in the inside.
  • Add other embellishments you see fit {maybe some heart stickers} and display/gift away proudly!

Watermelon Sayings:

  • You are one in a melon.
  • Thanks a melon!
  • Not in a melon years!
  • You are a cool melon!
  • You make me feel like a melon bucks!
  • You look like a melon bucks!
  • A melon miles away…
