Pipe Cleaner Carrot Craft Idea For Kids

This craft is not only a delightful addition to your seasonal decor, but it’s also a great exercise in fine motor skills and patience for your little makers. It’s also the perfect art project idea to add to your spring and Easter celebrations!

Pipe Cleaner Carrot Craft Idea For Kids

Orange and green pipe cleaners turn into carrots with ease! Just follow our simple tutorial below to see how to recreate it in your home today!

Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – 2 per craft
  • Mini Popsicle Sticks – 1 per craft
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Green Pipe Cleaners
  • Orange Pipe Cleaners

Directions:

  • First have children assemble the base of their carrot by gluing THREE {two jumbo and one mini} popsicle sticks together to look like a triangle.
  • Allow it to dry completely before moving on.
  • Now for the “orange” portion of the craft. Grab about six to eight orange pipe cleaners.
  • One by one, fold/bend them around the popsicle stick triangle. Since the pipe cleaners are made with bendable metal, they should stay in place. If they don’t, go ahead and use a little bit of hot glue to secure them where you want it to be.
  • To finish off the Pipe Cleaner and Popsicle Stick Carrot pieces – grab your remaining green pipe cleaners {about four to six} and bend/twist them to create the greenery.
  • For displaying – glue some string to the back for easy hanging or adding to gift packages!
  • Don’t forget to snap a few pictures to share with us on your various social media sites! #gluedtomycrafts

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
