Apple picking season is fast approaching and I wanted to share a quick kid craft idea in honor of it. Today I present to you our simple “Basket Full of Pom Pom Painted Apples” art project tutorial, that even includes a free printable to get you started with ease!

Basket Full of Stamped Apples On Paper

This is such a fun fall themed craft for the littlest crafters in your home. Using inexpensive supplies like pom poms, craft paint and some cardstock paper – you and your child can make a “fake” BASKET full of apples to show off and mark the apple picking season!

Our pom pom painted apple craft idea is versatile! You can either use our free provided basket printable {located below in the supply list} or you can skip it and hand-cut a shape out of brown construction paper instead. You can also swap out the pom pom paint brush for a paint dabber or even a wine cork! The choice is yours! However you decide to recreate it, I hope it all started with this very blog post.

Pom Pom Stamped Apples On Paper Craft

With just a few easy steps, your little crafter be creating works of art in no time!

CRAFT SUPPLIES:

  • Basket Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Brown Crayons
  • Large Pom Pom
  • Wood Clothespin
  • Green or Red Craft Paint
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Green Sharpie Marker
  • Brown Sharpie Marker

DIRECTIONS:

  • First things first – print the basket printable, listed above. You only need to print one per apple craft.
  • Next, go ahead and color in the basket, in the printable, with the brown crayons.
  • When done coloring, grab your pom pom and clothespin.
  • “Pinch” the pom pom in between the clothespin. You now have a paint brush!
  • Next up – squirt your craft paint on the paper plate.
  • Dab the pom pom into the craft paint, then onto the paper.
  • Repeat to make TONS of apples in the barrel.
  • Once done, take the markers and draw on stems & leaves coming from the apples that are on the outside of the pile.
  • When done decorating the pile, set aside your decorated paper piece to let it dry completely before displaying proudly!
