Finger Painted Dandelion Craft Idea For Kids

In this post, I’ve included a FREE dandelion flower template, so all you need to do is print the file, grab some paint and have your children add their thumbprints to complete the flower craft. It’s so simple, you have NO excuse NOT to do it!

Although dandelions can be seen as a pesky weed at times, I can promise YOU that this thumbprint art idea is not the case! Thumbprint Dandelion Craft

Let’s make something special together! Create a beautiful thumbprint dandelion craft with your loved one and cherish the memories forever.

Craft Supplies:

  • Dandelion Template – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Washable Finger Paint {or ink pad!}
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Baby Wipes

Directions:

  • First print out the free dandelion thumbprint template printable, listed above, on a single sheet of white cardstock paper. You only need ONE printable per craft. Feel free to print as many as you like but please only use our file for personal use.
  • Squirt a few of your child’s favorite colors of craft paint on a small paper plate.
  • Now have your child dip their thumb {or finger} in the paint and then press it down on the tips of the dandelion in the printable.
  • Have them repeat this step until the dandelion flower is nice and full.
  • When done with the painting step, use baby wipes to clean off fingers {and a quick trip to the sink doesn’t hurt either!}
  • To finish off the art project, add other embellishments you see fit.
  • Then display/gift away their dandelion fingerprint painting proudly for all to see!
