Band-aid Cards For Kids To Make

It’s pretty ironic that I’m sharing this “get well” post today.

My family is still battling a really bad cold since Christmas Eve and it’s been a roller-coaster ride battling this sickness. But like always – we’re making due. It’s just another excuse for us to lounge around and be lazy – especially with the holidays and year coming to an end. {I’m hoping my optimistic thoughts will make the sickies go away faster!}

Lil Man and I actually made these “Get Well Soon Band-aid Cards” a few weeks back. The plan was to keep them stored away until someone we knew, was under the weather. Essentially, a nice surprise to make them smile. Little did I know – we would all need our own pick me up soon!

If you would like to recreate these with your child, find all the details below in the paper and band aid handmade card tutorial below!

Happy crafting, my friends! Don’t forget to share pictures of your child’s creative band-aid cards on our Facebook page to admire! #gluedtomycrafts

The directions are simple and totally customizable to what you need & want to do. When it comes to our craft tutorials I like to give room for creativity.

Directions:

  • To start – I folded our cardstock in half to make our card.
  • Next – giving Lil Man full control – I allowed him to stamp a design on the front of the card.
  • This was followed by handing him a handful of band-aids and telling him to stick them on the card.
  • To finish off your DIY get well soon cards – we glued on wiggle eyes to the band-aids, to give the little dudes life. Then I wrote “Get Well Soon” on the front of the card.

If you have some extra band-aids laying around – this is the perfect “simple” craft to do with the kids one afternoon. It doesn’t have to be a “get well soon” card either. Band-aids are pretty cheap and can be used to make a one-of-a-kind collage.

Just like stickers – peel the backing and have them stick them on paper or any other surface. If you pick up a box at Dollar Tree – band-aids can be cheaper than stickers. Think of it as a way to step out of the box. Really get those creative juices flowing!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use.
