Sailboat Craft Made With Popsicle Sticks

With inexpensive craft materials and simple instructions found below, you and your child can make a beautiful and unique boat piece that is perfect to celebrate this beautiful summer time weather! You can also easily add magnets or string to the back so you can display them in your home, proudly for ALL to see!

PAIR YOUR SAILBOAT CRAFT WITH —> Handprint Sailboat Keepsake
Craft Supplies:
- Jumbo Popsicle Sticks {4 per sailboat craft}
- Mini Popsicle Sticks {2 per sailboat craft }
- School Glue
- Brown Craft Paint
- Small Paper Plate
- Foam Paint Brush
- Colorful Colored Cardstock Paper
- Kid Friendly Craft Scissors
- optional materials – star stickers, glitter, rhinestones etc.
Directions:
- First things first – grab ALL your popsicle sticks {four jumbo, two mini per sailboat} along with the bottle of school glue.
- Start off by laying THREE jumbo popsicle sticks next to each other.
- Secure them in place by gluing your TWO mini popsicle sticks {like a fence} the opposite direction.
- Finally – glue the last jumbo popsicle stick in the center of this rectangle shape for the SAIL portion of the craft.
- Allow the pieces to dry completely.
- While those are drying, grab your choice of color in cardstock and cut out a triangle flag for your sailboat.
- At this point in time you should cut out any other embellishments you see fit and decorate the flag piece.
- To finish off the Popsicle Stick Sailboat – have children glue on their cardstock flag piece, as well as painting the bottom portion of the sailboat brown
- When done with those two steps, set it aside again, to let it all dry completely before displaying/playing with your boat creation proudly!!!
