Calling all my young aspiring crafty cooks! Today’s wooden spoon chef puppet tutorial is extra PERFECT for you! We are going turn ordinary wood craft spoons into one-of-a-kind “cooking” friends. I promise you it’s super easy to recreate! All it takes is just a little painting and gluing to bring your new kitchen pals to life!

Then use your newly created chef friends made from wooden spoons for festive kitchen decor OR for some an afternoon fun of puppet play with him!

Wooden Spoon Chef Puppets - Kid Craft

Have some fun in the kitchen and let your inner chef come alive with these adorable wooden spoon puppets!

Unleash your inner culinary creativity and let the puppet show begin!

Craft Supplies:

  • Wooden Craft Spoons – 1 per craft
  • Paint Pens {or craft paint}
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Chef Paper Punch
  • School Glue

Directions:

  • First the fun part! Have children draw {or paint} the handle of the wooden spoon however they like to represent the body.
  • Once done, set aside to let it dry completely.
  • While children are working on that – punch out a chef hat and mustache out of your cardstock, using the paper punch {or restyle it and cut it out by hand}
  • To finish off the Wooden Spoon Chef – simply glue the paper pieces to the wooden spoon and add other embellishments you see fit {like glitter, rhinestones etc.}
  • To display, you can add magnets to the back, stick it in a flower pot or hot glue some string for easy hanging!
