Wood Scoop Stick Garden Gnome Puppets
I can’t stop falling in love with our latest spring themed kids craft tutorial! In my eyes, wooden scoop sticks and garden gnomes are the perfect combination for a fun DIY!
Today I present to YOU our Scoop Stick Garden Gnomes art project idea that is PERFECT for children {and adults} of all ages! With super simple steps and very inexpensive supplies, this is the perfect DIY activity to welcome spring into our lives! Not to mention, you can place them in a fairy garden you might have in your home already!
So let’s grab our supplies and make some adorable & completely customizable wood stick gnomes together! Then display as is OR set up shop for some garden themed playtime in the living room. Whatever you decide to do with the finished gnomes made from wood scoop stick pieces – I hope you AND your child have fun with it!

Craft Supplies:
* Wooden Scoop Sticks – one per gnome {we found ours in the craft aisle at Walmart}
* Various Colors of Paint {or paint pens}
* Small Paint Brushes
* Colored Cardstock Paper
* Kid Friendly Craft Scissors
* School Glue
* White Cotton Balls
Directions:
* First have children paint one half of the scoop to represent the body of the gnome {but make sure they don’t paint the head/face in just yet!}
* While they are working on that, cut out some tall but skinny triangular hats out for the gnomes to wear {one hat per gnome}
* To finish off the Scoop Stick Gnome, have children glue on their hats and cotton ball beard on the side of the scoop stick that wasn’t painted.
* Then paint on some small black eyes and they will be ready to show off their awesome new creations!!!
