A canvas features a tape resist cross made with masking tape, beside a paper plate of colorful pom-poms attached to clothespins for paint dabbers. The blog name GluedToMyCraftsBlog.com appears in the corner.

A child uses a clothespin with a yellow pom-pom to dab paint on a paper taped with a tape resist cross, creating a colorful art project with blue, purple, and yellow paint.

Directions:

  • First lay your painter’s tape down on the blank canvas, in a cross design. Two stripes of tape should be good!
  • Next squirt some paint on your small paper plate.
  • Pinch your pom poms in between the clothespins and dip them in the paint.
  • Have children “paint” their canvas however they like, but making sure the tape cross is completely covered in paint.
  • Once done, set aside to let it dry completely.
  • To finish your Tape Resistant Cross, peel off the tape to reveal the beautiful cross below.
  • Then add other embellishments or go straight to displaying it proudly!
