Bunny Suncatcher Craft Idea For Spring

When it comes to crafts for kids, there are no limits to the creativity they can explore. Craft projects not only keep little hands busy but also help in honing fine motor skills, increasing focus, and fostering imagination.

Springtime, with its symbolism of rebirth and new beginnings, is the perfect season for a craft that embodies the essence of the time of year.

On that note, today we are going to make some adorable bunny suncatchers that will turn your windows into a gallery of color and light that’s sure to put a smile on anyone’s face.

Craft Supplies:

  • Bunny Head Printable – on our landing page
  • Clear Contact Paper
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Scissors
  • White Tissue Paper Squares
  • Large Wiggle Eye Stickers
  • Heart Stickers

Directions:

  • First grab and print the provided file on a single sheet of white cardstock paper. You need ONE bunny print per craft.
  • Using your scissors trim out the blank bunny head design, as well as the center of it.
  • Now grab your contact paper and cut two pieces the same length.
  • Take off the protective paper off one and lay it on a flat surface.
  • Lay your bunny cutout on the sticky side of the contact paper, face down.
  • Now grab your white tissue paper and cut it into small squares.
  • Have your child place it on the contact paper, inside the head design, to fill it in with color.
  • Once done, grab the other piece of contact paper and remove it’s protective sheet.
  • Then lay it on top of the other piece and press firmly, making sure every corner is stuck together.
  • To finish off the Tissue Paper Bunny Suncatcher, use your scissors to trim out the finished design. Follow that up by adding the eyes and a heart shaped nose to one side of the finished design.
  • Then display proudly on a bright window or on the kitchen fridge with a few pieces of clear tape!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
