Balloon Butterfly Card Craft Idea

THIS BALLOON CRAFT IS FOR OLDER CHILDREN. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT BALLOONS CAN BE A CHOKING HAZARD AND SHOULD BE GIVEN TO THEM. AGAIN, I REPEAT. THIS TUTORIAL IS FOR OLDER CHILDREN & ADULT SUPERVISION IS STILL ADVISED.

Craft Supplies:

  • Latex Balloons – 1 per craft
  • Large Glue Dots/Tape
  • Cardstock Paper
  • Small Wiggle Eyes
  • Scissors
  • Markers
  • Stickers/Embellishments

Directions:

  • First grab a single sheet of cardstock paper.
  • Next grab your balloon {one per butterfly wings card} and use glue dots to secure it to the center of the paper. This will create the body of the balloon butterfly {if glue dots don’t work – use tape or foam adhesive instead.} You will want the larger part of the balloon to be facing up, to be the head of the butterfly, while the longer part is the body.
  • Once the balloon is secure to the card front, go ahead and grab your remaining cardstock.
  • Cut out heart shaped pieces to be the wings of the butterfly.
  • To finish off the Balloon Butterfly Cards, glue your cardstock elements to the card front.
  • Then draw on antennas with your markers and glue on wiggle eyes to the balloon. If you like, add stickers or glitter to the wings for a fun look.
  • Now add other embellishments you see fit before gifting away proudly!!!
