Popsicle Stick & Sharpie Marker Snakes

HI FRIENDS! It’s Stacey from Glued To My Crafts and I’m slithering by with another way to turn ordinary wood craft sticks into one-of-a-kind snake friends within MINUTES! If you can draw with markers, you are well on your way to making these “cute not scary” snake friends today!

Then use your newly created Wood Craft Stick Snakes as party decor, garden decorations OR have a fun afternoon full of puppet play with a whole collection of them!

Popsicle Stick Snakes - Kid Craft Tutorial

With just a few simple supplies, you can create snakes out of popsicle sticks.

Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
  • Paint Pens, Sharpie Markers or Craft Paint
  • Red Cardstock Paper
  • Small Wiggle Eyes
  • School Glue
  • Scissors

Directions:

  • First have children paint and/or color their jumbo popsicle sticks however they like {one per snake} Snakes come in all colors so let your child go wild on this one!
  • Once done, set aside to let it dry completely.
  • While they are working on that – cut out some long tongues from the red cardstock.
  • To finish off the Popsicle Stick Snakes – simply glue the cardstock pieces in place and add the wiggle eyes so they can see.
  • Follow that up by adding other embellishments you see fit {like glitter, rhinestones etc}
  • To display, you can add magnets to the back or hot glue some string for easy hanging!
