Popsicle Stick Valentine Love Truck

I’m simply over the moon on today’s newest Popsicle Stick Valentine Love Truck post!

I’ve taken our popular Christmas Truck tutorial from 2018 and I’ve upgraded it for the upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday!

Popsicle Stick Valentine Love Truck - Kid Craft

Popsicle Stick Love Truck Craft

Recently I was inspired by those inexpensive, small paper heart doilies that are making their appearances again, this time of year.

I’ve picked up a pack {or two} at Dollar Tree and Target now {these two have the cheapest but only had red at the time} & of course, I made my rounds at Michaels as well {which was more expensive but I was able to find them in pink and white colors, on top of the traditional red.} I also have affiliate link listed below if you can’t find them!

The reason I say I was inspired by these paper heart doilies, is because I envisioned a “truck” carrying a large candy heart box in the back of it, making it’s deliveries on Valentine’s Day. But let’s face it… honestly since this craft is truck related, my son is REALLY who inspired this idea! It’s not too girly so it’s great for both genders.

Anyways… I got off on a ramble! If you would like to recreate this Popsicle Stick Valentine Love Truck idea with your child today, we got ALL the supplies and directions listed below. It’s just matter of painting, cutting and assembling.

And although I LOVE the look of the paper doily in the bed of the truck, you don’t need to necessarily follow that step. You could easily cut out a large heart from colored paper instead and add it to the back the same way.

And one last thing – you could easily also add your child’s picture to the front seat of the truck for a personal touch. At Glued To My Crafts, we just want to set up the framework for you and hopefully inspire you to run with it!

So what are you waiting for? Rev up those engines, grab those craft supplies and “vroom” on by to crafting these “lovable trucks” up, this lovestruck themed season!

Popsicle Stick Valentine Love Truck - Kid Craft

This is such a fun and easy kids craft idea for Valentine’s Day! It doesn’t get much easier than this with popsicle sticks, paper and a bit of glue.

Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – 3 per Valentine’s Day truck craft
  • Mini Popsicle Sticks – 2 per Valentine’s Day truck craft
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Craft Paint {think Valentine colors like red and pink}
  • Foam Paint Brushes
  • Colored Cardstock Paper {again, Valentine colors}
  • Small Paper Heart Doilies
  • Basic Paper Craft Scissors
  • School Glue
  • Sharpie Markers
  • optional materials – glitter, rhinestones, love themed stickers etc.

Directions:

  • First grab THREE jumbo popsicle sticks, TWO mini sized ones and the school glue for your craft {the popsicle stick amounts are per truck you are going to make}
  • Lay the three large popsicle sticks next to each other, one by one, on a flat surface.
  • Now grab your other two mini one and glue them the other direction to create a fence.
  • Set aside to let it dry a bit.
  • Repeat for each valentine truck you want to make today.
  • While those are drying, grab all your cardstock paper. Cut out embellishments for your truck {like wheels, the window of the truck, the cab.}
  • Set all the paper pieces aside when done.
  • Once the popsicle stick shape is dry enough, go ahead and paint it with your craft paint.
  • To finish off the Popsicle Stick Valentine Trucks, glue the cardstock pieces you made {including the paper heart doily in the back of the truck!} in place, as well as any other embellishments you see fit {think rhinestones, glitter, etc.}
  • Also go ahead and use Sharpie markers to draw a “driver” in the window of your truck.
  • When it’s all done and dry, display it or play with proudly!
