Butterfly Handprint Craft

Today’s Handprint Butterfly Keepsake tutorial is super easy to make within minutes and it’s relatively inexpensive too.

If you have a printer in your home – you are well on your way to pulling this butterfly wing craft idea together and creating a great keepsake to treasure for years to come {plus the finished piece fits nicely in a scrapbook too!}

In this post, I’ve included a FREE gender-neutral printable template, so all you need to do is print the file, grab some paint and have your children add their handprints to complete the rainbow colored butterfly craft. It’s so simple, you have NO excuse NOT to do it!

Handprint Butterfly Keepsake w/free printable

Use our Handprint Butterfly Keepsake w/free printable idea to make a beautiful piece for grandparents, teachers or even yourself to enjoy!

Craft Supplies:

  • Butterfly Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Washable Craft Paint
  • Paper Plate
  • Paint Brush
  • Baby Wipes

Directions:

  • First print out the free provided template printable, on a single sheet of white cardstock paper. You only need one print per craft.
  • Next squirt some craft paint on a paper plate.
  • Pick a hand – any hand will do.
  • Paint the palm & fingers of one of your child’s hands and press it in the center of the printable, right next to the butterfly’s body.
  • Repeat if desired to make a fuller set of “wings.”
  • Go ahead and clean off hands with a baby wipe & a quick trip to the sink.
  • Once the paint is completely dry on the printable, add other embellishments you see fit like stickers, glitter etc.
  • Then display/gift away your child’s Handprint Wing Butterfly piece proudly!
