Popsicle Stick Angels

Here’s a simple craft idea for kids to make colorful and fun popsicle stick angels!

Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
  • School Glue
  • Craft Paint
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Craft Scissors
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Skin Tone Cardstock Paper
  • Scrapbook Paper
  • Gold Pipe Cleaner
  • Sharpie Markers
  • Small Wiggle Eyes
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First grab three jumbo craft sticks {three per Christmas angel} and glue them together to look like a simple triangle.
  • Set aside the triangle shape to let it dry completely.
  • Repeat for each angel you want to make today.
  • When ready, go ahead and grab your paper plate, paint & paint brush.
  • Paint your newly made popsicle stick shape whatever color you like {although I highly encourage a shade of gold for a Christmas theme.}
  • Set those aside again, to allow them to dry completely.
  • While those are drying, grab your Christmas scrapbook paper and scissors.
  • Cut a triangular shape that will be placed within the popsicle stick design and be the angel’s dress.
  • At this time, you should also cut out the circular head and wings of the angel from your cardstock paper.
  • Use the Sharpie markers to draw on your angel’s face, as well as her hair.
  • Go ahead and adhere the wiggle eyes in place as well.
  • Next, bend the gold and/or yellow pipe cleaner to look like a halo for your angel.
  • To finish off the Popsicle Stick Christmas Angel craft, have children glue/staple their cutouts and pipe cleaner halo piece in place.
  • Once done, set aside to let it dry completely before displaying proudly!
  • Don’t forget to share pictures with us on your various social media sites! #gluedtomycrafts

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
