Wooden Spoon Christmas Angel - Kid Craft

This easy kids craft is perfect for some holiday fun! Customize your angel puppet by painting the wooden spoons any color you like. Add a few simple details and you’re done. These little angels are sure to bring joy to your home during the Christmas season.

It’s always so much fun to get crafty around the holidays, and today’s festive Christmas Angel kid craft idea is sure to be a hit!

With just some wooden craft spoons, glitter, and glue, you can help your child create some one-of-a-kind angels within minutes! This is a great activity for promoting creativity and fine motor skills, and it’s also perfect for some holiday puppet play. Plus, it’s super affordable – you could even substitute some of the materials for what you have on hand.

Spoon Christmas Angel Puppet

This Wooden Spoon Christmas Angel craft is not only adorable, but it’s also customizable and perfect for some holiday puppet play at home! You can use what you have on hand to substitute a few of the materials, so it’s perfect if you’re on a budget. This is a great way to let your child’s creativity shine this holiday season!

Craft Supplies:

  • Wooden Craft Spoons – one per angel puppet
  • Craft Paint {in any color you like!}
  • Sharpie Markers
  • Colorful Glitter
  • Small Paper Heart Doilies – two per angel puppet
  • School Glue
  • Mini Wiggle Eyes – two per angel puppet
  • Gold Pipe Cleaners – one per angel puppet
  • Craft Scissors
  • optional materials for this craft – sequins, feathers, bows etc.

Directions:

  • First have children paint the body of their wooden craft spoon. {I did a combo of gold paint and glitter}
  • Set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Now grab your gold pipe cleaner.
  • Trim/bend it to look like a small halo.
  • Go ahead and glue it to the back of your spoon, along with the paper doily “wings.”
  • To finish off the Wooden Spoon Christmas Angel – have children draw/add embellishments to the round section of the spoon, to give the angel life. Glitter hair, rosy cheeks – the possibilities are endless! Just don’t forget those wiggle eyes so she can see!
  • Once done, set aside to let it dry completely before displaying/playing with proudly!!!
