Craft Supplies:
- {1} Large Paper Plate
- Craft Scissors
- Newspaper {to protect your working area}
- White Cardstock Paper
- {2} Small Paper Plates
- Green Craft Paint
- Red Craft Paint
- {1} Large Apple
- Sharp Kitchen Knife {adult supervision required!}
- Craft Ribbon
- Stapler
- Brown and Green Paper Scraps
- Glue Stick
Directions:
- First things first – cut out the center of your paper plate, leaving a ring for the wreath.
- Discard the center of the paper plate.
- Next up – lay newspaper down on your work station.
- Grab your apple and cut it in half, straight down the center to create TWO equal pieces. These two halves will become your stamps in creating this apple paper plate wreath activity.
- Next up, squirt your two paint colors {separately} on your small paper plates.
- Now lay out two to three pieces of blank white cardstock paper on your working surface.
- Use your apple “stamps” to create SEVERAL apple prints all over your white cardstock paper. My suggestion is do 10 of each colors. Be sure they don’t overlap and that you leave plenty of run for trimming out later.
- When done stamping, allow the paint to dry completely.
- Be sure to discard your apple stamps when you are done {they can not be eaten afterwards!}
- Once your apple prints on the paper are completely dry, it’s time to assemble! Go ahead and trim out each stamped design.
- Start laying and planning out how many AND where you want each cutout to be on your paper plate wreath shape.
- When ready, go ahead and staple the various apple elements, in a patterned design, to the paper plate. I suggest starting on one spot and working your way around, clockwise, until it’s completely covered. It’s ok if the apples overlap or touch it other.
- Finally, grab the green and brown paper scraps, your scissors and glue stick.
- Cut out small stems and leaves for each apple print.
- Glue those in place on the wreath.
- To finish off the apple stamped wreath craft, staple a “bow” to the front of the paper plate and add small looped piece to the back for easy hanging.
- Then display it proudly for ALL to see!
