Do you and your little ones love beach days? The smell of ocean air, the sound of the waves crashing on the shore and playing in the sand with buckets and shovels – there’s something special about making a sand castle!

And now you can bring that experience indoors with this fun Paper Plate Sand Castle craft idea for kids!

Perfect for a spring break boredom-buster or a summer staycation activity to do indoors, this craft is sure to be a favorite among budding crafters everywhere.

Plus, it only requires a few simple materials already found around your home. In just minutes, your little one will have created their very own masterpiece they can proudly hang on display!

Paper Plate Sand Castle Craft

Keep your kids entertained with this fun and creative paper plate sand castle craft idea! Perfect for family bonding and inspiring creativity in children.

Craft Supplies:

  • Castle Printable – on our landing page
  • Light Tan Cardstock Paper
  • Paper Craft Scissors
  • Large Paper Plate
  • Tan Craft Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Loose, Gold Craft Glitter
  • Beach Themed Stickers

Directions:

  • First things first – print out the FREE castle printable listed above. You only need one print, on a single sheet of light tan cardstock, per craft.
  • Now grab your scissors.
  • Trim out the castle shape.
  • Discard excess paper and set aside the castle piece till later.
  • Next up, grab ONE large paper plate and cut it into two equal pieces. Straight up the center.
  • Reserve one half for today’s craft and save the other for a rainy day!
  • Now grab your tan craft paint and paint brush.
  • Grab your paper plate half and paint it completely with the paint.
  • While the paint is still wet, go ahead and sprinkle some gold glitter on top.
  • Finally – the last step. Grab all your paper pieces and hand-held stapler.
  • Staple the castle shape to the back of the paint covered paper plate.
  • And that’s it! Add other embellishments you see fit before displaying your Paper Sand Castle proudly for ALL to see!

Prepare your creative haven by laying down a protective cover before the crafting magic begins!

Directions:
