Looking for a fun crafting activity to do with the kids? Make some monster cupcakes using puffy paint and let their creative juices flow!

Craft Supplies:

  • White Shaving Cream
  • White School Glue
  • Craft Paint
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Small Bowl
  • Cupcake Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Wiggle Eyes

Directions:

  • First download and print the cupcake template printable {or draw your own design on some cardstock} You only need ONE printable per monster craft.
  • Next, in a small bowl mix equal parts of shaving cream with white school glue. This will create a sticky frosting consistency.
  • Now add a drop or two of craft paint into the mixture, to get the desired “cupcake frosting” color. Please keep in mind, that once the frosting dries, it will be a darker shade.
  • Once you have the consistency/color you like – have your child use a paint brush to fill in the cupcake part with the “frosting.”
  • To finish your puffy paint monster cupcake craft, sprinkle several wiggle eyes {in random spots} on top of the glue mixture. You can add a ton or just a few – it’s up to you!
  • When done decorating the cupcake, set aside the paper piece to let it dry completely.
  • Once completely dry, display proudly!

Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible.
