Popsicle Stick Skunk Craft

Skunk Popsicle Stick Craft

It’s amazing how versatile a basic, three sided triangle, made from jumbo popsicle sticks, can be.

I’ve shared a fox, unicorn and even a hibernating bear craft that all started from a basic triangle design in my head. I can proudly say Glued To My Crafts has you covered when it comes to triangle shaped crafts for kids!

Anyways – today’s latest craft stick tutorial is just another triangle shaped idea that I turned into some simple skunk heads {with a slight Valentine’s Day theme!} Fortunately for you, these cuties do not STINK at all! I could easily see this idea being used in a classroom for a children’s book theme or even a lesson plan. When I originally thought of this idea, I was thinking of even turning them into Valentines by having children write “you are stinkin’ adorable” on the back with a Sharpie marker.

So without further ado – you can find all the details you need to know below, to make some extra cute & friendly skunk friends made from craft sticks! Then easily add some ribbon to the back of these popsicle stick skunks so you can hang them in your home or add some magnets to display them proudly on the fridge. Whatever you do – I sure hope we inspire you with out quick tutorial today!

Happy crafting my dear friends!!! Don’t forget to share pictures of your skunk creations with us by tagging our account on Instagram! I can’t wait to see your cute creations! #gluedtomycrafts

Popsicle Stick Skunk Craft

Keep your kids entertained for hours with this fun and easy popsicle stick skunk craft idea!

Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – 3 per craft
  • School Glue
  • Craft Scissors
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Pink Cardstock Paper
  • Black Craft Paint
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Wiggle Eyes

Directions:

  • First grab three popsicle sticks {three per skunk} and glue them together to look like a triangle.
  • Set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Repeat the above steps for each skunk you want to make today.
  • While those are drying, grab your black cardstock paper and cut a triangular shape that will be placed within the popsicle stick design and be the face of the skunk.
  • At this time, you should also cut out THREE small triangles out of the remaining cardstock paper. Two triangles for the skunk’s ear and another triangle piece to be placed in the center of it’s forehead.
  • Be sure to also cut out a small heart nose from the pink cardstock paper.
  • To finish off the Popsicle Stick Skunk – have children paint their popsicle stick design completely black, as well as gluing the paper pieces, wiggle eyes and heart shaped nose in place.
  • Once done, set aside to let it dry completely before displaying proudly!
  • If desired – add a few more embellishments like a paper bow in the corner, to make it a girl skunk!
  • Don’t forget to share pictures with us when you are done! #gluedtomycrafts
