Flag Snack Idea Using Graham Crackers

Whether for Memorial Day, 4th of July celebrations or in our case, sometimes a military event, this DIY snack is super simple, even for the youngest in the home to pull together!

We are talking THREE ingredients and steps! No need to even wear an apron or get the stove going. It doesn’t get any simpler than that, my friends!!!

Make a creative flag using graham crackers for a healthy yet tasty snack idea!

Flag Snack Idea Using Graham Crackers

Flag Snack Idea Using Fruit, Cream Cheese & Graham Crackers

For this flag themed afternoon snack idea, you will need some honey graham crackers, plain cream cheese and a handful of fresh red/blue colored fruit {like fresh raspberries & blueberries – cleaned & dried off}

Are you ready for the easy steps? Using a simple butter knife, slather a good layer of cream cheese on one side of a graham cracker rectangle.

Now for the fruit and ultimately what makes the flag come to life! Lay two to four blueberries on one corner of your cream cheese covered graham cracker {just like the flag.}

Next is the “red” stripe of the flag and we used raspberries for this step {you can also use cut up strawberries.} Simply slice your raspberries in half with a knife {adult supervision, please!} and lay them in two rows on your cream cheese covered graham cracker.

And that’s it! You now have a flag! Repeat for each snack you want to make. Eat immediately or store in a tightly-sealed container in the fridge till you are ready to eat!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
