Today’s Graham Cracker Stoplight kid snack idea is inspired by my son and his love of ANYTHING car related! #gluedtomycrafts
Do you have a child who loves anything “transportation” related, as much as my son? We pretty much talk cars and trucks ALL day long here. The living room is constantly a “race track” and I’m ok with that!
So… like I mentioned above, this crafty snack idea is completely inspired by him and his current “love.”
This Graham Cracker Stoplight idea is just something I decided to create to make craft time in the kitchen, a little bit more fun. Since the steps are easy and we don’t need elaborate tools or special ingredients, the stress is non-extinct AND we are making some great memories along the way! I highly encourage YOU to get the kids involved in the making!
To recreate this stoplight idea, you will need graham crackers, chocolate spread and gummy lifesavers. That’s it! Inexpensive, simple ingredients, that you probably already have in your home RIGHT NOW.
Of course – you can easily switch out things to fit your lifestyle.
Skip the graham crackers for toast instead. Skip the chocolate spread and go for peanut butter for a lighter version. You can also use fruit in place of the lifesaver candy {think a strawberry for red, a banana for yellow and a green grape for green} Maybe even make it a challenge for kids to think of “what can be used for the lights?”
I bet you are ready for the steps, right?! Let me break it down for you. It’s literally like TWO steps. I’m not kidding – super easy!
For the stoplight snack, take ONE graham cracker and lay it on a flat surface. Be careful not to break the cracker and spread 1 tbsp {less or more} of your desired spread, all over.
Now for the “lights.” Lay your candies, in the correct formation, onto the cracker {one candy per light.}
And that’s it! Then eat it and repeat again. I told you – we like how simple it is! ANYONE can recreate!!
So my friends, I’ll leave you here. There are so many ways to take this snack creation. I just hope we SPARK the idea within you and your child today!
Happy crafting in the kitchen, my friends!!! Be sure to also check out our previous Teddy Bear Toast post! #gluedtomycraftsinspiresyou
