Paper Polka Dot Gumball Machine - Kid Craft

Polka Dot Covered Gumball Craft For Kids

This fun and easy craft is perfect for kids of all ages! They’ll love making their very own gumball machine on paper!

When you are cleaning out your craft drawers and come across a few circular garage sale labels, you have no choice but to sit down & finally come up with a creative craft idea using them. Hence – how today’s Paper Polka Dot Gumball Machine kid craft idea came to life!

As I was looking at the bright yellow, green and pink coding sticker dots that I’ve had for awhile in my craft stash, it just reminded me of some colorful gumballs in a candy machine.

After brainstorming a bit, I came up with the blank gumball machine printable that you will see below in the supply list. I just hope it inspires you and you take advantage of the FREE provided file!

To recreate this gumball craft idea, simply download our freebie, print it out on a single sheet of thick white cardstock and then have children add their polka dot gumball stickers to the printable for a super creative craft idea!

You could even make a polka dot “stamp” where you pinch a small pom pom in between a wooden clothespin and dip it in paint. So perfect for the upcoming Valentine’s Day holiday or just because moments! Not to mention it’s great for the younger little crafters in your life!

Customize It:

  • Don’t have coding labels to use? Instead raid your craft stash for circular shaped “paint brushes.” Think recycled wine corks, soda bottle lids, craft pom poms or even a basic small craft sponge! Then dip your tool in various colors of craft paint to make the polka dot gumballs inside the free printable!
  • You can also use small heart shaped stickers for a Valentine’s Day theme! Just layer them the same way as you would with the coding stickers.
  • Last resort – dig our the crayons, markers, coloring pencils and have children DRAW/COLOR in their gumball candy pieces!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use.
