These beautiful popsicle stick Valentine fairies can be used in your home decor or in some creative imaginative play.
Craft Supplies:
- Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – one per valentine fairy craft
- Sheets of Cardstock Paper {think Valentine’s Day colors}
- School Glue
- Paint Pens {or craft paint & paint brushes}
- Large Heart Craft Punch
- optional materials – rhinestone crown, glitter, glitter glue
Directions:
- First have children punch out FOUR hearts for their Valentine Fairy. This will be the dress and wings. You can the two wings to be the same color but the dress pieces can be opposite but of course, different from the wings.
- With your remaining cardstock paper, be sure to cut out a rectangle “belt” to tie everything together.
- Repeat the above steps each fairy puppet you want to make today.
- Now grab your paint pens and popsicle stick.
- Draw on a face, hair and of course – ballet slippers onto the popsicle stick.
- Follow this up by adding any other embellishments you see fit, for that give the “glamorous” look.
- To finish, have children glue on the hearts {two for the dress and two more for the wings} to the popsicle stick.
- At this point children can also add even more embellishments {like scrapbook stickers, glitter, rhinestones} that they see fit to really make it their own.
