Looking for a simple and fun Valentine’s Day craft idea for kids? This paper plate hot air balloon is perfect!
Craft Supplies:
- Large Paper Plate
- Tissue Paper
- Black Cardstock Paper
- Heart Stickers
- School Glue
- Craft Scissors
- Stapler
Directions:
- First cut your tissue paper into small squares {let the kids practice their cutting skills}
- Take your paper plate and put a good amount of glue all over the remainder paper plate piece.
- Have children place the tissue paper on top of the glue, until the paper plate piece is completely covered.
- While they are working on that, cut out the other hot air balloon features from the cardstock. I did a basket with two strips for the rope that ties the basket to the balloon.
- To finish off the Valentine Hot Air Balloon kid craft – staple/glue the cardstock pieces in their designated spots on the paper plate {at this point you can add your child’s picture like I did in this particular craft}
- Go ahead and also cover the paper plate portion in heart stickers to really tie the theme together.
- Then display your Valentine’s Day paper plate hot air balloon proudly! {or add other embellishments to really make it your own before you do!}
