Not sure when it started exactly but for the past few years, I’ve made it a habit to ALWAYS add a new nutcracker piece to my ever-growing collection. My husband may think I’m crazy BUT I think they are the perfect addition to the Christmas decor in our home.
With that being said – I saved the BEST Christmas kid craft for last {this year that is!} and I’m sharing this awesome Paper Plate Nutcracker Kid Craft with you all today!
As always, it’s super simple, really inexpensive and the perfect nutcracker themed piece to display this time of year. I just hope you take the time to recreate our clever art project idea with your child today!

Nutcracker Craft Supplies:
* Large Paper Plate – one per nutcracker craft
* Skin Tone Tissue Paper {affiliate link}
* Blue Cardstock
* Black Cardstock
* White Cardstock
* Yellow Cardstock
* Hand-Held Office Stapler
* Kid Friendly Craft Scissors
* School Glue
optional embellishments like glitter glue, rhinestones, feathers etc.
Directions:
* First things first – cut your tissue paper into small squares.
* Put a good amount of glue all over the paper plate.
* Have your child place the tissue paper on top of the glue, until the paper plate is completely covered.
* Set aside to let it dry completely.
* While that is drying, work on cutting out the other nutcracker facial embellishments from the colored cardstock. We cut out a crown, mustache, eyes, nose, hair and beard to give him life. You can of course change it up however you like!
* To finish the Paper Plate and Tissue Paper Nutcracker Face craft – simple glue on the eyes & mustache, while stapling on the other embellishments.
* Then add other things to give him flair and display it proudly for all to see! #gluedtomycrafts
