Directions:

  • First you will want to assemble the center part of the corn. Lay three jumbo popsicle sticks next to each other and glue two mini {one on top and one on bottom} to create a small fence.
  • Set the shape you just made aside to let it dry completely.
  • Repeat for each corn piece you are making with your child today.
  • Next up – it’s time to paint! Go ahead and squirt some yellow craft paint on the paper plate.
  • Using a wider paint brush, paint the popsicle stick shape completely yellow.
  • Next up – squirt a small amount of black craft paint on the same paper plate.
  • Grab a thinner style paint brush and add some small, thin checker-print black stripes to the popsicle stick shape, to give the look of corn.
  • When done, set aside to let it dry completely again.
  • While the paint is drying, it’s time for the cardstock embellishments! Grab all your paper, pencil and the scissors.
  • Trace your child’s hand on the brown cardstock.
  • Use the scissors to trim out the traced design.
  • Now cut out a corn stalk out of the green cardstock paper.
  • To finish off the Popsicle Stick Corn craft – glue the cardstock pieces to the popsicle sticks and display proudly for all to see!

Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible.
