Under The Sea Paper Plate Craft Idea For Kids

Hi friends! Have you ever walked into a craft store and instantly spotted something that inspired you? Story of your life, right? {Well – that’s the story of my life!}

On a recent trip to my local Michaels, I found these adorable felt sea creature stickers near the front of the store and it instantly inspired today’s ocean themed kid craft post.

So if you needing a last minute craft idea to keep the kids busy when your days aren’t so jammed packed for the summer – look no further because today’s Paper Plate Under The Sea craft is super simple, inexpensive AND completely customizable too! The older kids will enjoy it and the younger kids will LOVE it! No real rules – just simple fun!

Paper Plate Under The Sea - Kid Craft Idea For Summer

Dive deep and get creative with this easy craft for summer! Have a blast making a colorful paper plate under the sea scene – perfect for kids of all ages!

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Paper Plate
  • Blue Craft Paint
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Tan Tissue Paper
  • Scissors
  • School Glue
  • Under The Sea Stickers

Directions:

  • First have children paint their paper plate completely blue.
  • Set it aside.
  • Grab a small amount of tan tissue paper and cut it into small squares.
  • Cover half of the paper plate with glue.
  • Have children lay the tan tissue paper on top, until the glue is completely covered. This is the “sand” of the ocean.
  • To finish off the Under The Sea craft, simply have children add their sea creature stickers all over, on top of the paper plate/tissue paper.
  • Then set it all aside to let it dry completely before displaying it proudly for all to see!
