Paper Bag Penguin Craft Idea For Kids

Paper Bag Penguin Craft Idea For Kids

This simple craft is perfect for little ones, and you can even get the whole family involved. Just grab some paper bags, craft paint, cardstock paper and you’re good to go.

In no time at all, you’ll have a delightful menagerie of funny little penguins to play with during a puppet show in your living room.

Paper Bag Penguin Craft Idea For Kids

Looking for a fun and easy craft to do with the kids this winter? This lunch sack penguin craft is perfect for preschoolers! It’s a simple project that only requires a few supplies, and it’s sure to bring lots of smiles. So grab some brown lunch sacks and get crafting!

Craft Supplies:

  • Large Paper Bag
  • White Heart Paper Doilies
  • Black Craft Paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Craft Scissors
  • Penguin Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • Crayons, Markers or Coloring Pencils
  • Glue Stick

Directions:

  • First things first – lay the paper bag on a flat surface, with the flap facing upward.
  • Next have your child paint that side of their paper bag completely with the black paint.
  • Set aside to let it dry.
  • Next grab the penguin template and choice of coloring material.
  • Have children color in ONE side of the penguin printable however they like.
  • When they are done, help them trim out each piece they just colored.
  • At this point in time, you should also help them trace/cut out TWO handprint wings for the penguin.
  • Once the paper bag is completely dry, it’s time to assemble the penguin.
  • Glue the paper heart doily to the center/front of the paper bag {for his belly} just like in the above picture.
  • Then glue on the remaining paper cutouts. The penguin’s feet at the bottom and his eyes at the top. Finally, the handprint wings on the side.
  • Finally add any other embellishments you see fit before displaying/playing with your paper bag penguin friend proudly!
