Simple crafts not only keep children entertained but also help them develop important skills while making cherished memories. This fingerprint bird craft is a delightful activity that combines the fun of getting a little messy with the charm of a winter wonderland scene!

Fingerprint Birds on Snowman Carrot Nose - Free Printable Included!

This project is more than just a way to pass a chilly afternoon. It actively supports your child’s development. Using their fingertips to create the birds helps refine fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. It also encourages creativity as they decide where to place their birds and how to add unique details. The process is simple enough for toddlers to enjoy while still being engaging for older kids who can add more intricate designs.

To recreate this art project, all you need to do is print out the provided “snowman face” file on white cardstock paper. Go ahead and have children color in the carrot nose with an orange crayon.

Next up – have children press their thumb in some washable craft paint and then right on top {anywhere} on the carrot nose design. Have them repeat this simple step for EACH bird they want on their snowman. When they are done, help them wash off the excess paint from their fingers.

The final step is to draw on beaks and add tiny wiggle eyes so they can it. And that’s it! You can of course have them leave the decorated paper as is or help them add a snowman hat and/or other embellishments to create unique designs. It’s honestly doesn’t get any easier than this! This thumbprint birds on a snowman’s nose craft can happen within minutes and I sure hope you give this a try this winter season!
