If you’re looking for a fun and engaging craft project for kids this winter, why not try making a torn paper melted snowman?

This simple yet creative activity will keep their little hands busy and ignite their imagination. Plus it makes for a great card for someone else as well!

Torn Paper Melted Snowman Craft

Crafting offers a warm and cozy way to enjoy winter while staying indoors. The torn paper snowman craft is perfect for kids of all ages, providing a creative outlet without needing complex materials or skills. Plus, it’s an excellent opportunity for kids to develop fine motor skills and explore their creativity.

Craft Supplies:

Before you start tearing up sheets of paper, gather all the necessary materials.

  • Blue Cardstock Paper
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • White Computer Paper
  • Choice of Colored Paper
  • Crayons or Coloring Pencils
  • School Glue or Glue Stick
  • Scissors
  • Googly Eyes
  • Embellishments

Having everything prepared beforehand helps maintain focus and reduces disruptions. The simplicity of the required materials makes this craft accessible and budget-friendly, ideal for spontaneous creative sessions.

Directions:

  • First download and print the FREE you melt my heart template listed above, on a single piece of white cardstock paper. You will need to print ONE for each craft you want to do with your child.
  • Have kids use crayons to color in the “hat” and “nose” portions in the printable.
  • Trim them out, along with the wording.
  • Now help your child cut/tear their sheet of white computer paper into small pieces.
  • Next grab the school glue and put a good amount of glue all over the blue cardstock paper.
  • Have children place their white paper pieces on top of the glue {adding more if needed} until it’s is completely covered.
  • Follow that up by helping them glue their cutouts on top as well.
  • The final step is to add TWO handprint cutouts {his mittens} and googly eyes to finish off the snowman’s face.
  • Once done decorating, set aside to let it all dry completely.
  • When the snowman is completely dry, it’s time to display it proudly.
