As holidays like the Fourth of July and Memorial Day fast approach, it’s the perfect time to engage children in a fun, creative activity that celebrates patriotism. One delightful and relatively simple craft idea is making our unique patriotic cupcake gnomes out of cardstock paper tutorial.

These adorable little 4th of July cupcake gnomes can serve as charming decorations for your holiday festivities or as a wonderful keepsake. Plus, crafting is a great way to develop fine motor skills and encourage imaginative play.

Craft Supplies:

  • Cupcake Gnome Outline – Landing Page
  • Coloring Materials
  • Cardstock Paper
  • Scrapbook Paper
  • Scissors
  • School Glue
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First print the free blank cupcake template listed above in the supply list. My suggestion is on white paper but feel free to change that up. You only need ONE print per gnome cupcake craft.
  • Next decorate your cupcake design however you like. I went with a red bottom and left the frosting white.
  • When done, trim it out and glue it to another piece of cardstock paper.
  • Now for the gnome embellishments. Cut out a large triangle hat and OVAL nose out of your remaining pieces of paper.
  • Go ahead and glue those to the decorate cupcake liner piece. Start off with the hat top and the nose in the center.
  • Finally, add embellishments to give it a 4th of July look {like some craft glitter or star stickers.}
  • When done crafting, allow it all to dry completely before you display it proudly for ALL to see!
