As the 4th of July approaches, families across the United States are gearing up for celebrations filled with fireworks, barbecues, and a spirit of patriotism.
It’s the perfect time to engage kids in festive activities that not only entertain but also educate them about the significance of Independence Day.
One such activity is our latest and greatest “Fork Painted Eagle” craft tutorial—a fun, creative, and easy-to-make project that can be enjoyed by children of all ages.
Crafting is an excellent way to nurture a child’s imagination, improve fine motor skills, and create lasting memories.
This fork painted craft is inspired by the bald eagle, a symbol of freedom and strength in America.
Using simple materials, you can guide your kids through this delightful activity and add a personal touch to your 4th of July decorations.
Craft Supplies:
- Plastic Fork
- Brown Craft Paint
- Eagle Head Printable – on our landing page
- White Cardstock Paper
- Light Brown Cardstock Paper
- Brown Cardstock Paper
- Scissors
- School Glue
- Large Google Eyes
- Crayons, Markers or Coloring Pencils
- optional – loose craft glitter
Directions:
- First squirt some BROWN paint in the center of one of your sheet of LIGHT BROWN cardstock paper. You don’t need a lot. Maybe the size of a quarter.
- Now take your fork – which is your “paint brush” and spread the paint ALL around to make the bald eagle’s feathers come to life on paper. Add more paint if you like. It doesn’t have to be perfect at all so feel free to change it up.
- If desired, sprinkle some loose craft glitter on top of the wet paint for extra sparkle.
- Once you are done creating the “body” on the paper, set it aside for now.
- Next grab your eagle head template. Color it the beak design and add on the googly eyes.
- Go ahead and cut it out when done. At this point in time you should also cut out TWO handprint “wings” from the remaining brown cardstock paper.
- Finally – the last step of this fork painted bald eagle craft is to glue your cardstock pieces in place, on the painted piece of paper. I highly suggest starting with the head at the top and then adding the wings last.
- Set aside to let it dry completely before displaying proudly!
