With the changing of the leaves marking the start of autumn, it’s a great time to get crafty with your kids. This q-tip painted fall tree craft is an easy and fun project that will give you adorable results in no time!

Q-Tip Painted Fall Tree Craft Idea For Kids

Welcome fall to your home with some beautiful colors of the season! As the days grow cooler and shorter, leaves are changing color from green to vibrant oranges, reds, yellows, and browns.

With so many colors in nature at our fingertips, why not bring some of those beautiful hues into your home with an easy kids craft project – q-tip painted fall trees!

Little ones will love getting creative with this fun activity as they dip their q-tips into different paint colors and create their own personalized tree masterpiece that celebrates the beauty of autumn.

Q-Tip Painted Fall Tree Craft Idea For Kids: A Creative Activity for Autumn

Kids will love watching their trees come alive with all the autumnal colors as they dip and swirl q-tips in acrylic paints.

Craft Supplies:

  • Unused Q-Tips
  • Brown Craft Paint
  • Red Craft Paint
  • Orange Craft Paint
  • Yellow Craft Paint
  • Choice of Colored Cardstock Paper
  • Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Basic Craft Scissors
  • Pencil or Pen
  • Glue Stick
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First trace/trim out your child’s handprint/arm out of the brown cardstock paper. This is the start of the falling leaves tree.
  • Grab your glue stick and glue that cutout to the center of your choice of color cardstock paper.
  • Now grab your various colors of craft paint and squirt a small amount of each, on the paper plate.
  • Have your child take a q-tip, dip it into the paint, then onto the branches of their “handprint” tree.
  • Repeat until your fallen leaves tree is nice and full.
  • To finish off the Q-Tip Painted Handprint Fall Tree – add other embellishments you see fit {like an owl sticker in the tree.}
  • When done crafting, set aside to let it dry completely, before displaying proudly!!!
