Paper Gingerbread Man Hot Air Balloon Craft

Gingerbread Man Hot Air Balloon

This craft is perfect for kids of all ages and is sure to get them into the Christmas spirit. Best of all, there’s no need to spend a lot of money on supplies – simply print out the free printable template and gather up some basic crafting materials.

Craft Supplies:

  • Gingerbread Printable – on our landing page
  • Scissors
  • Brown Cardstock Paper
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Red Cardstock Paper
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • Black Sharpie Marker
  • Orange Sharpie Marker
  • Small Rhinestone Stickers
  • Small Wiggle Eyes
  • Single Hole Punch
  • School Glue or Glue Stick
  • Yarn or Twine

Directions:

  1. First things first – print out the FREE printable on LIGHT BROWN cardstock paper.
  2. Next up – grab your choice of embellishments and decorate the gingerbread man however YOU like.
  3. When done decorating, go ahead and grab your scissors & the printable.
  4. Trim out the cookie design and discard excess paper.
  5. Now grab another sheet of white cardstock paper.
  6. Trace and trim out a basic handprint shape for your snowmen.
  7. Use a marker to draw on faces on each finger tip.
  8. Now grab the sheet of black cardstock paper and cut out FIVE tiny snowmen hats.
  9. Glue those in place now.
  10. Next up – grab the red cardstock paper and cut out a large basket shape for the snowmen to ride in.
  11. Use the black Sharpie marker to draw lines on the basket and give it some dimension.
  12. Go ahead and glue the white handprint cutout to the back of it.
  13. We are heading towards the final steps! Now take the hole punch and punch two holes in the gingerbread man cutout, as well as the basket cutout you just made, for where the strings will go.
  14. Now cut TWO long strands of string {about 6 inches, give or take} making sure they are both the same length.
  15. Go ahead and thread your string through the holes you made in all your pieces, to tie together the hot air balloon {just make sure not to pull too tight or your paper pieces might rip}
  16. Cut off excess string if need be.
  17. Go ahead and add any other embellishments you see fit.
  18. Then display your Christmas gingerbread man air balloon piece proudly for all to see!

Gingerbread Man Hot Air Balloon Craft

Simply print out the free printable template and gather up some basic crafting materials to bring it to life!

Here’s your checklist of supplies to bring this craft to life:

  • Gingerbread Man Shape Printable
  • Cardstock Paper
  • 2 Small Wiggle Eyes
  • Ribbon or String
  • Embellishments
  • Scissors
  • Sharpie Markers
  • Single Hole Paper Punch
  • Adhesive

Prepare your creative haven by laying down a protective cover before the crafting magic begins!

Directions: 
Prevent your screen from going dark

  • First things first - print out the FREE printable on LIGHT BROWN cardstock paper.
  • Next up - grab your choice of embellishments and decorate the gingerbread man however YOU like.
  • When done decorating, go ahead and grab your scissors & the printable.
  • Trim out the cookie design and discard excess paper.
