Craft Supplies:

Before you begin, make sure you have all the necessary supplies ready. Most of these items can either be found around the house or purchased from your local dollar store.

  • Mini Popsicle Sticks – 8 per craft
  • White Craft Paint
  • Black Craft Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • School Glue
  • Scrapbook Paper
  • Scissors
  • Small White Pom Pom – 1 per craft

Directions:

  • First assemble the base of your marshmallow friend by gluing your mini popsicle sticks together to look like a fence {6 next to each and two across to make square shape.}
  • Set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Repeat for each marshmallow piece you want to make today.
  • Now grab your bottles of paint, paint brushes and small paper plate>
  • Squirt the two shades of color on the paper plate.
  • Next have children paint the front of their popsicle stick shape completely white.
  • Use the black to draw on facial embellishments.
  • When done with the painting step, set it aside again to let it dry completely.
  • Now grab the scrapbook paper and scissors.
  • Cut out a half circle “hat” for your marshmallow friend.
  • To finish off the Popsicle Stick Marshmallow Friend craft, have children glue on the hat, as well as gluing on the white pom pom to the top.
  • Add any other embellishments you see fit {maybe some glitter or some tiny heart stickers for the cheeks!}
  • Allow it to dry completely before displaying proudly!
