Fingerprint Raindrops - Rain Go Away Craft Idea For Kids

Fingerprint Rain Craft Idea

Rain, Rain Go Away! Come Again Another Day. Little _____ Wants To Play!

Today’s Fingerprint Raindrops kid craft idea is VERY fitting for the stormy weather we have had here in Tampa, Florida the past week.

It’s been raining on and off since last Thursday and my son & I are ready for this depressing weather to stop. Welcome to summer in Florida! They are predicting this type of weather till next week. UGH.

Anyways – due to the rainy weather, I was inspired to make this Rain Go Away tutorial come to life for Glued To My Crafts. It’s “THE” craft to make with your child, on a rainy day, to pass the time. My personal favorite part of this rain cloud craft idea is the little poem that I included in a free printable below, that you can personalize {and sing} with your child’s name added in it.

It’s just a quick and quirky paper craft that only takes a few steps & supplies. All you need is paper and blue paint. That’s it! So on that note, I hope you like it as much as I do and are inspired to recreate it today, as well {whether it’s raining or not!}

Find all the details, along with the free rain cloud printable BELOW! Happy crafting my friends!!! #gluedtomycrafts

  • Go ahead and find it on your computer.
  • Print it on a single sheet of white cardstock. You only need one cloud print per rainy day craft. Print as many as you like but please only use our file for personal use.
  • Once you have the file printed, go ahead and cut out the cloud design in the printable.
  • Discard excess paper.
  • Grab a sheet of light blue cardstock and your stapler.
  • Staple the cloud to the top of the blue paper.
  • Squirt some dark blue craft paint on the paper plate.
  • Have children dip their fingertip in the paint, then press it on the light blue paper to make a rain drop coming from the cloud.
  • Repeat until you have a “rain storm” on the paper.
  • Remove excess craft paint from the finger with a baby wipe and a quick trip to the sink.
  • When ready, take the marker or a pencil & write your child’s name in the provided space.
  • Add any other embellishments you see fit on the fingerprint rain art.
  • When done, simply let it all dry completely before displaying proudly for all to see.

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use.
