Inspired by the “wood slice” craze going on right now – today I’m sharing this Wood Slice Reindeer kid craft idea!!!
Wood slices are pretty easy to find right now {I found mine in the wood section of Michaels} and they are the PERFECT shape to make some red-nosed friends with!
So let’s not delay the craftiness! Find the full tutorial below and make a whole HERD of them!
Then use them for puppet play, party decor or even tie them to the tree as ornaments!
Whatever you do – happy crafting my friends!!!
Wood Slice Reindeer Puppet Craft Supplies:
* Small Wood Slice Pieces {I found mine at my local Michaels}
* Wood Scoop Sticks
* Small Wiggle Eyes
* Small Red Rhinestones
* Brown Craft Felt
* Scissors
* Wood Glue {or hot glue gun}
optional – Ribbon/Twine
Directions:
* First cut out some small antlers from the brown felt {two per reindeer}
* Now it’s time to assemble the face of your reindeer. This is done by gluing the wiggle eyes, red nose and felt antlers to the wood slice {see above picture for example} Set aside to let it dry completely. Repeat for each piece you want to make.
* To finish off the reindeer puppets, glue your wood slice to a wooden scoop stick.
* Then use for your pretend puppet play OR hot glue ribbon to the back for hanging on the Christmas tree!
