Hi friends! With Christmas just around the corner, I figured I would share another SIMPLE handprint reindeer keepsake kid craft idea that can be easily framed and turned into a gift on the fly.

This Christmas themed reindeer keepsake idea is super easy to make within minutes and it’s relatively inexpensive too. If you have a printer in your home – you are well on your way to pulling this together and creating a sweet keepsake to treasure for years to come {plus the finished piece fits nicely in a scrapbook too!}

In this post, I’ve included a FREE reindeer face printable template, so all you need to do is print the file, grab some paint and have your children add their handprints to make antlers & complete the craft with ease. It’s so simple – you have NO excuse NOT to do it!

Handprint Reindeer Keepsake - Christmas Kid Craft

A festive craft idea to get the whole family in on the Christmas spirit! This handprint reindeer is a fun keepsake that you can make together with your child.

Craft Supplies:

  • REINDEER Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Washable Brown Craft Paint
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Baby Wipes
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First print out the free handprint reindeer keepsake printable, listed above, on a single sheet of white cardstock paper. You only need ONE print per keepsake craft.
  • Squirt some brown craft paint on a small paper plate.
  • Pick which hand to work with first.
  • Using the foam paint brush, paint the palm of your child’s chosen hand completely brown and press it on the printable for one of the reindeer’s antlers.
  • Repeat for the other hand/other side of the antlers.
  • Clean off excess paint from hands with baby wipes and a quick trip to the sink.
  • Once done decorating your reindeer piece, set aside to let it dry completely.
  • If desired, add other embellishments you see fit like some glitter or small craft bows.
  • Then display/gift proudly!
