Hi friends! It’s that time of the month again! The Kids Craft Stars and I are joining forces to bring you our MONTHLY craft challenge post.

Every month we have a challenge between us bloggers to in-cooperate a different craft medium or theme into a simple kid craft tutorial. This month’s challenge was to use tin cans in our kid friendly craft idea!

So without further ado – today I present to you our Tin Can Apples craft tutorial that is not only super simple and really inexpensive BUT it’s a clever way to decorate for the upcoming fall season!

Recycled Tin Can Apple Craft Idea

Get creative and let your imagination run wild – you never know what amazing things could come from it!

Craft Supplies:

  • Recycled/Clean Tin Cans
  • Red Craft Paint
  • Large Foam Paint Brush
  • Wine Cork
  • Green Craft Felt
  • Craft Scissors
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Hot Glue Sticks

Directions:

  • First things first – have children paint the outside of their tin can completely red.
  • Set aside to let it dry completely. Repeat for each apple you want to make.
  • While that is drying – grab your green craft felt and scissors.
  • Go ahead and cut a simple leaf out for each apple you are making.
  • To finish off your Tin Can Apples, get your glue gun hot and ready!
  • Turn your painted tin can upside down {bottom up} and hot glue the wine cork stem & felt leaf piece to complete the look of an apple.
  • Then admire your hard work!!!
