Broccoli Painted Christmas Tree Craft Idea For Kids

Today I’m sharing another outside-the-box stamping kids craft idea that is made with BROCCOLI! Yes, you read that right – FRESH, RAW BROCCOLI that we are using as a paint brush!! Say what?!

After realizing how much people loved our fall tree version {seriously – it went VIRAL on Facebook last month} I’m super excited to continue the fun on Glued To My Crafts with a new and improved CHRISTMAS TREE VERSION! There’s even a NEW printable in this tutorial, that will get you started with ease.

So on that note, I want YOU to celebrate this festive time of year with today’s Broccoli Stamped Christmas Tree craft tutorial! Just like using a traditional craft sponge, a simple piece of fresh broccoli can be easily turned into a stamp that makes for great “pine needle” texture on a blank tree template!

Today’s creative painting technique is not only super simple for kids of all ages BUT it’s also really inexpensive too {especially if you have a few pieces of broccoli to spare from your holiday dinner plans!} I’ve provided the basic framework, it’s your turn to run with it!

Looking for a fun, festive, and easy craft project to do with your kids this holiday season? Look no further than our broccoli stamped Christmas tree tutorial!

Craft Supplies:

  • Christmas Tree Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Green Craft Paint
  • Fresh RAW Broccoli
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Light Bulb Stickers

Directions:

  • First things first – download our FREE CHRISTMAS TREE BRANCH PRINTABLE, listed above in the supply list.
  • Find it on your computer and print it on a single sheet of white cardstock. You only need ONE print per Christmas tree craft.
  • Now grab your small paper plate and the green craft paint.
  • Squirt the paint on the paper plate.
  • Now have your child grab their piece of broccoli. Using it like a sponge, have them dip it in the paint, then on the tree printable.
  • Repeat until the tree starts to look full and covered in pine needles.
  • When your child have the design they like, have them add a few light bulb or ornaments stickers on top of the decorated tree, to really tie the theme together.
  • Then set it aside to let it dry completely before displaying proudly!!!
