Handprint Joy Keepsake Craft For The Holidays

Handprint Joy Keepsake

This sweet little Christmas craft is perfect to make with your kids! Capture the joy of the season in a handprint keepsake that can be given as a special gift to someone you love.

Craft Supplies:

  • Free JOY Printable
  • Light Blue Or White Cardstock Paper
  • Craft Paint {white or green}
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Baby Wipes
  • Sharpie Markers
  • Cardstock Paper Scraps
  • Paper Craft Scissors
  • Glue Stick

Directions:

  • First grab the JOY keepsake printable listed above in the supply list.
  • Decide whether you are doing a snowman or a Christmas tree for the center of the craft.
  • Now print out the provided joy file on the designated color of cardstock. Light blue for the handprint snowmen and white for the handprint Christmas tree.
  • Next grab either your white craft paint or green paint, as well as your foam paint brush and paper plate.
  • Squirt the craft paint on the paper plate.
  • Pick one of your child’s hands {left or right – doesn’t matter!}
  • Paint the palm of your child’s hand completely green or white and press it down in the center of the printable, between the TWO letters.
  • Now carefully lift up your child’s hand from the printable and clean off the excess paint with a baby wipe & a quick trip to the sink.
  • When the handprint you just made on the paper is dry enough, start embellishing it to look like either a holiday tree or a set of snowmen. For the Christmas tree you can add a paper star on top, as well as tree stump on the bottom. For the snowmen, I used Sharpie markers to draw on the small hats, noses and eyes.
  • Add other embellishments to give your joy themed Christmas piece a personalized look.
  • Don’t forget to have your child fill in the blank spots with their name, age and date!
  • Then display/gift away proudly your child’s beautiful handprint joy keepsake piece!
