Paper Plate & Clothespin Chicken Craft For Kids To Make

Looking for a fun chicken craft idea for kids? This paper plate and clothespin chicken is perfect for preschoolers and toddlers!

Craft Supplies:

  • Large or Small Paper Plate
  • White Tissue Paper
  • Yellow Cardstock Paper
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • Wooden Clothespins
  • Red Craft Paint Pen
  • School Glue
  • Craft Scissors
  • Hand-Held Stapler

Directions:

  • First cut your white tissue paper into small squares {let the kids practice their cutting skills}
  • Take your paper plate and put a good amount of glue all over it.
  • Have children place the tissue paper on top of the glue, until the paper plate is completely covered.
  • While they are working on that, cut out some chicken facial features from the cardstock. Think eyes, beak etc.
  • Go ahead and also use the paint pen to paint the four clothespins completely red.
  • To finish off the chicken paper plate kid craft idea – staple/glue the cardstock pieces in their designated spots on the paper plate, as well as “pinching” the clothespins to the paper plate to represent some feathers and waddle.
  • Then display proudly! {or add other embellishments to really make it your own!}
