Reindeer Hot Cocoa Mug Craft Idea For Kids

A rein-hot craft! Stir up some holiday cheer with this cutie. Follow our simple tutorial below, to recreate your own craft stick reindeer mug creation! May I also suggest you have the real deal afterwards?! Have fun!

Craft Supplies:

  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks – 10 per craft
  • School Glue or Hot Glue Gun
  • Brown Craft Paint
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Scissors
  • Red Cardstock Paper
  • Brown Cardstock Paper
  • White Cotton Balls
  • Large Googly Eyes – 2 per craft
  • White Pipe Cleaner
  • Red Pipe Cleaner

Directions:

  • First glue your popsicle sticks together to look like a fence. Eight next to each other and two across to secure in place.
  • Set aside to let it dry completely.
  • When it’s dry, you are ready for paint. Squirt some craft paint on your paper plate.
  • Grab your foam paint brush and go ahead & paint your square shape completely brown.
  • When done with that step, set aside the painted wood shape to allow it to dry a bit.
  • Now grab your two sheets of colored cardstock paper.
  • Out of the brown, cut out a simple handle shape that will go on the side of the mug. Out of the red, cut out a large circular “nose” for the reindeer.
  • Finally, take the two pipe cleaners and twist them together & bend them to make candy cane antlers.
  • To finish off your Hot Chocolate Reindeer Mug craft, glue all your pieces onto the painted piece. Start with the wiggle eyes and nose in the center. Follow that up by gluing a rim of cotton ball “marshmallows” on the top, the candy cane antlers on the back and the candle on one side.
  • Add any other embellishments you see fit.
  • Then allow everything to dry completely in an undisturbed location.
  • Then display proudly when you are done! Cheers!
