Q-Tip Painted Winter Tree Branch Craft

Q-Tip Painted Winter Tree Branch Craft

Get the kids crafting this winter with this fun cupcake liner cardinal on winter tree branch art project! Easy and creative, it’s the perfect activity for a cozy afternoon indoors!

Craft Supplies:

  • Unused Q-Tips
  • White Craft Paint
  • Blue Cardstock Paper
  • Brown Cardstock Paper
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Scissors
  • Pencil or Pen
  • Glue Stick
  • Large, Red Cupcake Liner
  • Embellishments

Directions:

  • First trace/trim out your child’s handprint/arm out of the brown cardstock paper. This is the start of the tree branch.
  • Grab your glue stick and glue that cutout to the center of your blue cardstock paper.
  • Now grab your white craft paint and squirt a small amount on the paper plate.
  • Have your child take a q-tip, dip it into the paint, then onto their “handprint” branch.
  • Repeat until their “snowy” tree is nice and full.
  • Finally, the bird! Grab your red cupcake liner and flatten it out with your hands.
  • Fold it in half, secure the center and glue it on the tree branch design.
  • Follow that up by adding on a beak and googly eye to make a beautiful cardinal.
  • To finish off the Q-Tip Painted Handprint Winter Tree – add other embellishments you see fit {like snowflake stickers!}
  • When done crafting, set aside to let it dry completely, before displaying proudly!!!
