Paper Plate Halloween Flower Craft

Welcome to the spookiest time of year! Kids of all ages love the anticipation and excitement Halloween brings. But once they have their costumes on, what else is there to do?

Today we are here with a craft idea that kids will love: creating flower-shaped paper plates for a festive decoration.

Perfect for your home or classroom, this fun project can be personalized to make it extra special.

So put those supplies aside and follow along as we show you just how easy it is to create beautiful flower plates just in time for All Hallows’ Eve!

Craft Supplies:

  • Free EYEBALL Printable – on our landing page
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Black Cardstock Paper
  • Small Paper Plates
  • Cupcake Liners
  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
  • Craft Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Scissors
  • Stapler
  • School Glue
  • Halloween Embellishments

Directions:

  • First things first – grab your small paper plate.
  • Paint it ANY color you like.
  • At this point in time, you should also paint one side of your jumbo popsicle stick, completely black.
  • Set aside both for now.
  • Now grab your printout and your scissors.
  • Cut out ONE eyeball design per spooky flower you want to make today {save the rest for our MONSTER craft!}
  • Next grab THREE cupcake liners and your scissors.
  • Flatten each cupcake liner out with your hands and stack them together, one on top each other.
  • Use the scissors to cut a “fringe” around the edge of the stacked cupcake liners.
  • Go ahead and use your fingers to curl some of your cuts, to give your flower some dimension.
  • Now use your stapler to secure the liners together, with the eyeball cutout, in the center.
  • We are heading towards the last steps! Finally – glue the stacked cupcake liners to the center of your painted paper plate.
  • Follow that up by securing the paint jumbo popsicle stick to the back of the decorated flower piece.
  • Finally, cut out a simple petal shape from the remaining black cardstock paper and glue it in place.
  • At this point in time you can add small embellishments {such as spider stickers like I did!}
  • Set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Then display/gift away your spooky paper plate Halloween flowers proudly!
