Toilet Roll Stamped Earth Day Flowers

All you need is some recycled toilet roll tubes and simple art supplies – plus your imagination – to make these unique flower creations!

Craft Supplies:

  • Light Blue Cardstock Paper
  • Mini EARTH Printable – on our landing page
  • Light Green Cardstock Paper
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Scissors
  • White Craft Paint
  • Blue Craft Paint
  • Glue Stick
  • Green Sharpie Marker
  • optional – loose craft glitter

Directions:

  • To get started, simply download and print the free printable earth flower printable, on a single sheet of light blue cardstock paper.
  • Go ahead and cut out TWO or THREE mini earth shapes. Set aside the remainder for later.
  • Next, using scissors, you will want to cut slits in the toilet paper roll. I went about 1/4 of the way up.
  • Then bend the slits outward. The toilet paper roll will look like a flower when you are done.
  • Next – take some white and blue craft paint & squirt it on a paper plate.
  • Using your new toilet paper roll stamp, move the paint around a bit, so the stamp part is completely covered. You want a good mix of blue and white paint on the toilet paper roll.
  • Now hand it over to your child and wait for the fun to begin! All they need to do is dip their newly made stamp in the paint, then on the green cardstock paper. They will want to make TWO or THREE flowers {with room between each} on the light green cardstock paper.
  • Repeat adding paint, until the desired design is reached. At this point in time, if desired, they can also sprinkle loose craft glitter on top of their wet paint creations.
  • The final step is to draw on the “flower stem” under both designs and glue on the earth centers.
  • Once the paint is dry, add embellishments all around the designs, to make your flowers stand out from the crowd!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use.
