Did you know Earth Day is fast approaching?
Although EVERY day should be a celebration of our beautiful planet, it’s widely celebrated on April 22nd, every year. Not many people know {or celebrate it} but it’s a day to honor the Earth and demonstrate support for environmental protection.
To celebrate the annual event, today I’m sharing a Paper Plate Earth Day Kid Craft idea that is perfect to explain to children how they can make a difference PLUS it’s an awesome keepsake as well!
Just follow our step-by-step tutorial below! Happy crafting and celebrating our beloved planet, my friends!!! #gluedtomycrafts
Paper Plate Earth Supplies:
* Large Paper Plate {one per craft}
* Blue Craft Paint
* Paint Brush
* Green Tissue Paper
* School Glue
* Brown/Red Cardstock {or any other color you like}
* Basic Craft Scissors
* Pencil or Marker
Directions:
* First have children paint their paper plate completely blue.
* While they are working on that, tear {or cut} some small pieces of green tissue paper.
* Now grab the glue and have children glue on their tissue paper to the paper plate, to represent the different continents {doesn’t have to be perfect!} Set aside.
* While that is drying, trace your child’s hand on the brown cardstock. Trim out, as well as trimming out a heart for the center.
* To finish off the Paper Plate Earth Day Kid Craft – glue the heart cutout to the center of the handprint, then glue that piece to the center of your finished “earth” piece. Then display proudly!!!
