Cupcake Liner Earth Day Flower Craft

Let’s get crafting and make some sweet Earth Day daisies with some simple supplies and our free printable!

Craft Supplies:

  • Mini EARTH Printable – on our landing page
  • Paint Crayons
  • White Cardstock Paper
  • Green Cardstock Paper
  • White, Large Cupcake Liners
  • Jumbo Popsicle Sticks
  • Green Craft Paint
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Small Paper Plate
  • Craft Scissors
  • School Glue

Directions:

  • First things first – print the mini earth template out on some white cardstock paper.
  • Trim out ONE earth design per flower. Use paint crayons {or regular crayons} to color in the design.
  • Now grab the green cardstock paper and cut out one small flower petal shape.
  • Set aside both paper pieces till later.
  • Next up – grab the green craft paint, the small paper plate, paint brush and ONE jumbo popsicle stick.
  • Squirt a small amount of craft paint on the small paper plate.
  • Use the paint brush to paint ONE side of jumbo popsicle stick, completely green.
  • Set it aside to let it dry completely.
  • Now grab THREE cupcake liners and your scissors.
  • Flatten each white cupcake liner out with your hands and stack them together, one on top each other.
  • Use the scissors to cut a “fringe” around the edge of the stacked cupcake liners.
  • Go ahead and use your fingers to curl some of your cuts, to give your flower some dimension.
  • Now you will want to secure the liners together with a little bit of school glue in the center of each.
  • We are heading towards the last steps! Finally – glue the stacked cupcake liners to one end of the painted popsicle stick from earlier.
  • Follow that up by gluing on the earth shape in the center of the cupcake liners, while gluing the petal shape on the other end of the stick.
  • Set aside to let it dry completely.
  • Then display/gift away your cupcake liner daisy flowers proudly!

Craft Activity Safety Guidelines:

Always Ensure Adult Supervision - Young children should be supervised at all times when engaging in craft activities. This is essential to keep them safe and ensure materials are used correctly. Use Age-Appropriate Supplies - Choose craft supplies that are suitable for your child’s age. Check labels for recommendations and avoid items with small parts or sharp edges for younger children. Modify as Needed - Feel free to adapt materials or steps to meet your child's abilities and safety needs. For example, substitute scissors with safety scissors if necessary. Keep an Eye on Allergies - Be mindful of potential allergens in craft materials like glue, paint, or certain fabrics. Opt for non-toxic and hypoallergenic options whenever possible. Organize and Secure Supplies - Keep all craft tools and materials organized. Store sharp objects, small parts, and potentially hazardous items out of reach when not in use. Following these guidelines will ensure that crafts remain fun, creative, and, most importantly, safe for everyone involved!
